F.A.G (Fridays Album Gratification) is a weekly album reccomendation, where I post an album I like and reccomend every Friday.
Now I know I have done Alghol before, but most bands I like have multiple albums, so get used to me repeating artists. Alghol, if you didn't read about my first post of him, is "local" to me and therefore I am happy to promote his shit again. Not only because he makes bangers, but because the dude is very vocal about hating nazis and trump and ice. Over all a good shit.
ANYWAYS getting into the actual music part: Osseous Key is an album that released on September 18th 2021, that has eight songs that is nearly all about four minutes long, one being a little less and one being a little more. Now, we all know I fucking love longer songs, even though these songs are average length, listening to them is still a very pleasurable to the point that I have not found a song on this album that I do not love. The whole album paints a beautiful dark scene in which you can not only stay but return to again and again. Picking a favorite is hard but Fall of Kings might be the best one on the album in my opinion.
"I ascend slowly Inflicting dread with every step In a heartbeat I tear his heart out from his chest His eyes widen Then gloss over as the lights leave I stand triumphant In my hand I hold the key" - Fall of Kings from the album The Osseous Key by Alghol.

Woman fronted dark wave electro band from the Uk? No way! Yes way but this one is ACTUALLY good please listen to me please please please please please.
Forming in 2011 and then taking a break and then making a comeback in 2019, this London band is very akin to skinny puppy and regresses you to the age you were when you first watched the Resident Evil movie for the first time. The name sake album especially is just fucking banger after banger. I am mad I didn't have this music when I was a teenager that's how fucking good it is. With eight songs all being at about four minutes long, you are in for a relaxing yet still heart beating music to just be your utter most droopy goth self. My favorite is all but gun to my fucking head I would have to say Eviction. The song just gives science experiment escaping from an underground facility to only wreck their own body by choosing drugs and club life rather than actually finding out who they are or better yet making themself instead of just a vessel for sex and opium.

The year is 2015, you are on tumblr and you are #notlikeothergirls, you dont CARE for the 1975 or the used, you want something so edgy and so hardcore so you look up "black metal album", to online find an album that is literally named black metal. You listen to it as you role play as teen wolf characters on tumblr, life is good.
Or maybe you didnt, maybe this was just me. Eleven years after the band Nocturnal Depression was established (give or take the multiple changing of members), the album Spleen Black metal was released by this french black black metal band. With seven songs, most of which are over five minutes long, you are in for some fire ass guitar skills and some more upbeat pace songs. While I dont care for the band much anymore and my taste has refined, This album still has many great songs including my favorite by them Acédie.
"Je bois le flot de mes envies Puis les recrache, les vomis Sur le cimetiere ou je languis Comme un cadavre sans logis" -Acédie from Spleen Black Metal by Nocturnal Depression

Basic double album recommendation for today, but still a rather good album. This combo album with S.M.E.S is banger after banger. While the songs are rather very short, they still are loud, gross, and good. Released in 2002 with 27 songs in total, 10 lymphatic and 17 S.M.E.S., these songs are catchy and a good start if you want to get into gore grind. It gives you a good idea for the overall genre, along with giving you a two birds one stone while listening to two artists who are very popular and well known in the genre. On this album I have to say my favorite songs have to be Congenital Tumour Constituted by Embryonic Tissues and Foetal Residues as I LOOVE sampling and more vocal background sounds than music. But the music itself which comes after is very diverse with sound and tempo. When I first listened to it I couldn't tell what note was going to happen and come next. It felt like being a torture victim in some crazed sanguine oil rig.

Let the court know I think Doomgrass is the most fucking dumb most cringe shit on this godforsaken earth, that being said to be cringe is to be free and if you like it I'm so happy for you. HOWEVER: Xasthurs non doomgrass albums are very much enjoyable. New to Xasthur? Count yourself lucky, Xasthur is a black metal and doom grass music artist that, when finally went solo after band mate issues in 2001, started to release music under the black metal genre, and one of the albums he produced is Leviathan which is my favorite album by him by far. This album is a very good classic example of the genre and makes you feel like you are entering each level of hell itself. With seven songs that came out in the album which was released in 2004, every one of them is a banger. A lot of them are similar, but fight me, most black metal fucking is. I also like it due to that because it tells its own story in that format. My favorite song on the album has to be Conjuration of terror. I adore long songs, and at just a bit over of seven minutes, this song is just is beautiful. The sound echos and has grit, but you can still hear every part and instrument clearly, but due to them playing so loud it also sounds more like waves are crashing against rocks.
"he weight of ignorance cursed all their beliefs Yet curse the children who have nothing to pray to" Conjuration of Terror from the album Leviathan by Xasthur.

Skinny Puppy is most definitively my favorite band, I have adored them for years but only recently went through and listened to every single song by them about a year or so ago. Bites is by far one of my favorite albums by them. Released in August of 1985 with 17 tracks, If you like gloomy depressing industrial music that makes you feel like you are constantly walking through a damp wet run down city that is run by corrupted people with factories that blow smog and constantly having to look over your shoulder, or if you really fuck with Rhythm nation by Janet Jackson, you will fucking love this album. My favorite songs on this are many, but my top three have to be of course Assimilate, followed by Dead Doll and The Choke.
"Bubonic plague, the truth of aids Immunity avoid decay In the trench of pestilence The bible screams announce your faith" -Assimilate by Skinny Puppy

Asphyxia is a very nostalgic band to me personally, it is how I found out there was more industrial music to be discovered on the internet besides just looking up movie sound tracks. I discovered this band when I was maybe eight or nine years old and so I hold this album very VERY close to my heart and love it simply because it quite literally paved the way to me finding more and more music. Asphyxia is a french band and there be like nothing online about them, they also only have one fucking album with only 12 tracks. SO I am personally taking that as a hint that maybe they do not want much information about them to be spread, for what reason I am unaware, but information about them is rather sparse. Their singular album, which released in 2009, has absolute banger after fucking banger, although my personal favorite, and which was the first song that I had found from them, was Obliterate My Fate. This fucking album makes you feel like you are in a dubious relationship with this mad scientist evil robot alien cyborg who experiments on you as he destroys the earth you were born from. It is very deeply meant with not love but possession but also is fueled by self awareness and evolving as a person or entity. This album fucks and nine year old me was listening to this damn album on repeat every morning at six in the morning on my way to elementary school to go color in my traced hand for thanksgiving.
"I will muzzle you with wires, I will make your limbs collapse I will stay awake for you reading your children's tales Prepare yourself because you'll struggle against pain I would rather stop by now but you're driving me insane"-Obliterate My Fate by Asphyxia

Alghol is one of my favorite artists and is somewhat of a local artist to me whom has been very vocal politically along side making music, helping his community along side giving it amazing music to listen to. He creates black metal with the fantasy horror blend. Especially with the album Night Eternal. This album has eight songs in which I very much enjoyed five songs from and was just okay with the other three. My favorite songs on the album have to be Witch Doctor, Noxious Opulence, What Lies Within, The Heart of Darkness, and the title song Night Eternal. These songs have a specific haunting echo-y tone that I very much enjoy that makes it feel like you're in a damp cave or dark castle underground. I enjoy songs that give a lot of atmosphere and puts you in a specific place, and this album does a good job doing so. His lyrics are simple yet also have thought behind them, they allow you to paint even more of the picture of the setting. His vocals are amazing and one of if not my favorite, his voice matches the music itself so perfectly, it is extremely cohesive as I find some newer black metal artists have a good base for music and yet their vocals stand out too much and it feels messy so listening to him was like getting an extra nugget in my fast food order.
"Back to my castle, drugs, and whores To rule in glory Unopposed Until I'm called upon to serve once more..." -Night Eternal by Alghol.
